What is the Selphyl® Procedure?
Female Health Associates is proud to offer Selphyl®, a revolutionary alternative to traditional dermal fillers. Instead, the Selphyl® procedure (sometimes called the Vampire Facelift) utilizes the platelet rich plasma (PRP) naturally occurring in each patient’s blood to create a platelet rich fibrin matrix that, when injected, stimulates the patient’s own body to produce naturally occurring collagen to smooth wrinkles and fill in hollows.
It can be used in glabella lines, nasolabial folds, periorbital hollows, acne scars and post-operative scars.
What is the process for the Selphyl® procedure?
Patients who choose the Selphyl® procedure can expect an in-office appointment that takes no more than thirty minutes. The doctor will draw a blood sample and spin that sample on a special platelet extracting centrifuge to collect the platelet rich plasma for injection into the patient. This plasma is then injected much like traditional dermal fillers. The results generally last for a year or so.
What are the benefits of Selphyl®?
In addition to the obvious benefits of smoother skin and a more youthful appearance, patients who choose the Selphyl® procedure can expect a safe, reliable experience with no allergic or adverse reactions since the process uses the patient’s own blood.
Selphyl procedure also eliminates the bumps that can occur with other dermal fillers and can easily be performed during a patient‘s lunch hour.
