Dr. Jeffrey Hantes takes pride in his years of medical experience and comforting bedside manner. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and understands that his work as a doctor includes more than just diagnosing medical problems. Dr. Hantes believes compassionate care and patient education are two of the most important aspects of a treatment plan.
Dr. Hantes has years of experience working in the fields of gynecology and urogynecology. He attended medical school and completed his residency at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, where he also served as a professor for five years. Residents were able to work with underprivileged and high-risk patients, treating difficult and complex cases. Following his residency, Dr. Hantes completed a fellowship in Advanced Endoscopic and Pelvic Surgery at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston. He has always had a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and female incontinence/prolapse and is one of the most highly trained and skilled physicians in North Texas for treatment of these conditions. He has published several articles in this area and continually attends training for the most advanced treatments of these conditions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hantes has been active in numerous medical societies and served on hospital committees.
“I have always felt that being a physician was not a right but a privilege I have been given. To whom much is given, much is expected. I believe there are two things that make a quality physician: expertise and compassion. Getting the cutting-edge training has been a very time consuming process but extremely rewarding when I see how it benefits my patients. It will always be an ongoing process that I am committed to for my patients. The compassion side is very natural and easy. I was fortunate to have such a strong family background growing up in Texas. As a physician, I always felt that if I treated my patients with respect and how I would want my daughter, sister, or mother treated, then I would be providing the quality-of-care women in the metroplex deserve. I enjoy going to work every day and often remind myself and my staff of these principles I believe in”.
While Dr. Hantes’ practice is time consuming and a priority, he is also passionate about his life outside of medicine. He states that his daughter, Kate, is the best thing that he has ever experienced in life. They enjoy boating on the lake and being “Dallas Cowboys” fans. He also enjoys golf and pretty much anything that affords him the opportunity to spend time with his family and close friends. Dr. Hantes provides patients with diagnosis and treatment for the following conditions: Routine Well-Woman Exams, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, Urinary Incontinence (loss of urine), Overactive Bladder, Vaginal Prolapse (dropped bladder/vagina), Pelvic Pain, Permanent In-Office Birth Control/Essure and Uterine Ablation. With his minimally invasive surgical background, the vast
majority of hysterectomies, etc. can be done with the advancements in the DaVinci robotic surgery.
